A slow day for late September by anyones calendar....  it doesn't seem that there is much food to keep birds on the mountain this fall.  We haven't come across a large feeding flock of migrants for the past two weeks, which is some what unusual for this time of year, even with good flying winds.

It was a little bit windy at the saddle so we moved down the road about 220 yards.  Still tough to hear so there were many calls not identified.   Three GHOW's were calling on the way up at 5:15AM, but there were a minimum of five owls calling back and forth between 6:45 and 7:00AM!  At one point, one GHOW landed in a tree directly in front of us!
