Kennesaw Mountain Report 7/15/2004 0725-1000 70F-79F Clear and sunny. Winds very light and variable. Obs: G Beaton YBCU 2 one was a very recently fledged (dark bill, short tail) juvenile that called constantly both on my way up and down. Short series of notes similar to adult call but flat pitched. CHSW 8 RTHU 1 NOFL 2 a pair of adults displaying to each other, possibly a second nesting attempt? WEVI 3 YTVI 1 BHVI 1 imm REVI 4 WBNU 5 NOPA 2m BTNW 11 3m 2f 1im 3if 2unk One of the unk was another one of the very young birds we sometimes see in Jul up there. I would love to know where these birds are nesting. SUTA 8 4m 1f 2if 1call the two if were following one of the adult m around SCTA 5 3m 2if INBU 3 1m 2call AMGO 5 Except for one NOPA in the VC parking lot, the PIWA behind the VC, and the adult and young BAWW, all the warblers were near the top. One flock at the saddle stairs had several BTNW, the other NOPA, the BLBW, and 2 BAWW. The other flock was at the stairs to the top from the upper parking lot, the rest of the BTNW and the CERW.
