29 Mar 2005 18:42:32 -0500 Reply-To: Ken Blankenship Sender: Georgia Birders Online From: Ken Blankenship Subject: Broad-winged Hawks @ KMT I've been out to KMT after work lately... slower birding than AM, but today I was rewarded with two BROAD-WINGED HAWKS soaring over the mountain top. They were in and out of a kettle of mixed vultures, then moved on headed north. I also had a pair of EASTERN BLUEBIRDS singing in the saddle area in a snag - they were beautiful in the afternoon sun with the backdrop of the horizon far off. Also saw a very scraggly weird-looking BLUE-HEADED VIREO near the beginning of the trail up the mountain. Had one male YELLOW- BELLIED SAPSUCKER at the overlook.
