3/13/2006 KMT. The top of the mountain was dead. Around the field by the lower car park, I had some neat birds: Red-breasted Nuthatch 2 (1m, 1f) Red-winged Blackbird 2 American Goldfinch 2 Yellow-rumped Warbler ~6 Pine Warbler 2 White-throated Sparrow ~8 Dark-eyed Junco 2 Cedar Waxwing 5 The nuthatches were foraging on the "puff balls" of a large sycamore where the road splits to go over to the admin buildings. One of the Pine Warblers was collecting nesting material on the ground (looked like dog fur), then flew to the pines in the picnic area. Ken Blankenship Marietta, GA (Cobb County)
